MARK GUBICZA TELEVISION COLOR ANALYST
Former Major League Baseball veteran Mark Gubicza is entering his 24th
year with FanDuel Sports Network West. This season will mark his 19th year of
providing color commentary for Angels broadcasts. Gubicza will also continue
as an analyst for the Angels pre- and
post- game shows, “Angels Live”, which
he has done for the past 20 seasons.
Gubicza previously co-hosted the FS Baseball Report,
which aired nationally on Fox Sports, previewing future
matchups, and breaking down current standings in

the league. In 2004, Gubicza provided analysis for
Minnesota Twins games from Los Angeles. He made his
first television appearance as an analyst for FSN in April
2000 on Baseball Today and the National Sports Report.
He also hosted the Southern California Baseball Report
on AM570 for three years.
In his professional baseball career, Gubicza spent 14
seasons in the Major Leagues. Drafted in 1981, he spent
13 seasons with the Kansas City Royals, becoming a
World Series Champion in 1985 and 20-game winner in
1988. In both 1988 and 1989, he was named to the AL All-
Star team. He finished his career with the Angels in 1997.
To honor his many accomplishments on the field, he was
named to the Kansas City Royals Hall of Fame as well
as the Pennsylvania Hall of Fame in 2006. He was also
named to the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame, class of 2010.
Gubicza received the 2022 Southern California Sports
Broadcaster Award for most outstanding TV Analyst.
Gubicza and his wife, Lisa, live in Chatsworth, Calif. and
have three children, Nicolette, Chad and Ashley.
PATRICK O’NEAL TELEVISION PLAY-BY-PLAY
Patrick O’Neal returns for his 12th season covering the Angels for
FanDuel Sports Network West and will rotate as a television play-by-play
broadcaster in 2025 while also hosting pre- and postgame shows as he
provides fans with in-depth coverage of various Angels games.
O’Neal, a fixture in Southern California sports for over 20 years, expanded
his role in the FanDuel Sports Network West broadcast booth, calling play-
by-play for select games since 2021 alongside Mark Gubicza, which included being on the
call for Reid Detmers’ no-hitter in 2022.
In addition to his network baseball assignments, O’Neal also covers the Los Angeles Kings
for FanDuel Sports Network West. He has worked the sidelines for NFL games on FOX and
provided NFL and College Football game breaks in 2013 and 2014.
A Southern California native, O’Neal has been recognized with six LA Area Emmy Award
nominations for Outstanding Sports Reporting, taking home wins in 2018 and 2006. In 2018,
O’Neal was also named by the SoCal Sports Broadcasters Association as the Top Pre- and
Postgame Host, an award he has won five times.
He attended the University of La Verne in Southern California, where he studied
communications and journalism. He currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Summer,
and is the proud father of two daughters, Veronica, and Sophia.
