COACHING HIGHLIGHTS
◆ 2025 represents second season on the Angels coaching staff following his appointment on Nov. 14, YOUNG Sr.
2023...He took over as first base coach on May 8, 2025 after serving as third base coach since the start
of the 2024 season...Prior to joining the Angels, he spent six seasons (2018-23) as the Braves first base
coach...Also worked with Atlanta outfielders during tenure...Prior to joining the Braves, served as Rockies
first base/base running/outfield coach from 2014-16...During the 2011-12 seasons, was the first base
coach for the Diamondbacks...Began coaching career with the Astros in 2010 as a minor league outfield
and base running instructor.

◆ After retiring from baseball, spent 2007-09 working as an in-studio analyst for ESPN’s Baseball Tonight.
◆ Played 15 seasons in the Majors for the Dodgers (1992 & 1997-99), Rockies (1993-97), Cubs (200-01),
Brewers (2002-03), Giants (2003), Rangers (2004 & 2006), Padres (2005-06)...A 1996 All-Star and
Silver Slugger, posted a career .283 (1731/6119) average with 327 doubles, 46 triples, 79 home runs
and 996 runs in 1,730 games...Stole 465 bases in career, the second most in the Majors during the
time he was active (1992-06)…Stole at least 40 bases in six different seasons (1993, 1996-2000)...
After making big league debut for the Dodgers in 1992, was selected by the Rockies in the 11th round
of the expansion draft...Paced the N.L. in stolen bases with 53 in 1996...Drafted in the 43rd round
of the 1989 draft by the Dodgers...Two-sport athlete at Rutgers University (baseball and football)...
Prepped at New Brunswick HS (NJ)...Has two sons Eric Jr. and Dallas...Eric Jr. played 10 seasons in
the Majors including his final two (2017-18) with the Angels...Dallas is a teenage actor, who starred
in Nickelodeon’s “Cousins for Life”...He also made appearances on others shows, including “9-1-1,”
“Shameless,” “Cobra Kai,” and “The Fosters.”
